

Sophia Emmanuel Is a rare find in the beauty industry today. This diversified young lady has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and a minor in Computer Applications. Before obtaining her degree in business she attended Jane Addams Vocational High School and acquired her cosmetology license. As a little girl everybody in Sophia’s family knew she would grow up to do hair because her dolls always had creative hair styles. Sophia will open her own salon in November, 2011 which will be called Crown Worthy™.
She was trained by one of the most leading professionals in haircutting, John Atchison. This helped Sophia become known for her precision cuts and creative styling techniques. She excels not only in skills but has a thorough understanding of African American hair and scalp. Her work has graced the pages of a industry magazine called A Gallery of Hair and Braids. She is a certified Mizani stylist, and has gained certificate awards from companies such as Paul Mitchell, Pivot Point, Wella and Vidal Sassoon. With 8 years under her tool belt, Sophia plans on leading a professional black salon and, become a certified Trichologist. Trichology is the British para-medical science of the hair and scalp, cosmetic chemistry, and life sciences. It encompasses the science of the structure, function and diseases of the human hair and scalp as well as the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases and disorders. She continues to gain knowledge in hair care, cuts, business and technology.
